The Girl & Kid Vacation - Palmyra

Last week all of the men in the family headed up into Canada on a week long fishing trip, so as a result all of the ladies and the kids headed up to Rochester, NY where my sister Lynsee lives and had our own little vacation.  Though it was crazy with 1 Nana, 4 Mothers/Sisters & 9 grandkids aging from 3 months to 6 years, we had a absolute blast.  Thanks to Lynz & Mike for hosting this crazy party, and allowing their house to be somewhat trashed.  Anyhow here is all the fun of the girls trip.

My mom, Ashley and her two kids, myself, Will & Pete too, off Saturday afternoon and headed halfway up, then finished the drive on Sunday.

Monday was spent just resting going to the mall and letting the kids play (along with a stop at Charmin Charlie's, a very fun store), and waiting for Emily and her two girls to fly in.)

On Tuesday we headed into Palmyra to start our church history tour.  We went and saw the cabin where Joseph Smith lived as a boy and where he saw the Angel Moroni, then of course went into the Sacred Grove.  It was so neat seeing where all of these sacred events took place.

So I don't have any pictures inside the Joseph Smith home, but funny side story, when Will went into the house he raced straight up the stairs, I ran after him to find him upstairs having gone under the rope barrier and laying on one of the beds.  Needless to say after I was finished laughing we had to learn that we did not climb on the furniture or go under any of the ropes.  

All the Grandkids that were not in strollers with the Sister missionary who gave us the tour.  

Inside the Grove with 8 of the grandkids (Zoey, Sunny, Lucy, Tate, Macey, Addison, Will & Peter)  Rhett had stayed home with his dad on this particular day. 

After seeing the Smith farm we went up the Hill of Cumorah.  Most of the kids had fallen asleep on the drive, but Emily & I got out to see it.  It was pretty cool, plus the Hill of Cumorah pageant was starting this particular week so it was really neat to look down and see the set and all of the chairs set up on the yard.

After touring the Palmyra church history sites, we headed back to Lynsee's to let the kids have a break.  That night we went down to the Village of Pittsford (the town Lynz & Mike live in) to feed the ducks off the
Erie Canal and get some frozen yogurt.

It was fun getting to see so much church history and this was only the beginning.
