Take Me Out to the Ball Game & Happy Birthday Nana

Since the weather has finally gotten so nice in Charlotte, a week ago our family, along with Grandpa Ladd and Unlce Christian, decided it was time to go to a Charlotte Knights game.  We have taken Will to several games, but after a terrible experience with him at the Salt Lake Bees game last year, we haven't been to another game since.  As a result we have never taken Peter to a game yet, so he got his official first baseball experience.  (Will actually went when he was 2 weeks old).  Anyhow we had a great time eating popcorn and peanuts and Will loved watching the mascot Homer the dragon (he thought he was a dinosaur which is what his favorite toys are right now).

Will getting to meet "the dinosaur."  The picture is a little blurry but he literally ran up hugged him and ran back to his dad, so Blaine was lucky to get a picture at all.

The family at the game

This past Friday was my Mom's birthday.  She was so sweet and instead of just going out to dinner with Dad decided to have everyone go with her to Zapata's (a local Mexican restaurant.)  We had a great dinner, but then the wait staff came to sing with her.  These fabulous people definately know how to let everyone know it was your birthday.  The hooped and hollered, sang their version of a birthday song loudly, then presented her with Fried Ice Cream (YUM!).  However they did not just let her eat her first bite by herself, oh no, one of the waitresses fed it to her and left her with a beautiful whipped cream mustache.  Needless to say we had a lot of fun.

Before

And After

Of course when Nana had on a sombrero, Will thought he had to try it on as well, then of course he thought Pete needed a turn too.

We had a great time.  "Happy Birthday Nana," we love you and are happy we could spend your special day with you.
